Default Otaku USA no longer distributed through comicshops?

Up to now I always bought the mag in my local comicshop, here in Germany. Recently, though, I noticed that the next issue (May/June 2009) was still listed in the printed distribution catalogue (Diamond Previews), but no longer on the corresponding orderforms. So I asked Diamond (the distributor) and they answered: "Unfortunately it has been decided that this item will no longer be offered in Previews."

So: no more Otaku USA in comicshops? I'll be forced to get a subscription then, since there are no other outlets carrying the mag in Europe, at least to my knowledge. How well are international subscriptions working these days?

That's unfortunate. Maybe one of the mag guys may know if there is another EU distributor.

Hmm, maybe Julian knows more about this. I'm sure he could at least point you in the right direction. Hopefully subscribing will be a viable option!

Yes, for some reason or other we've been delisted from Diamond. We plan to negotiate with them to make a return.

In the mean time, we do ship subscriptions internationally, though we charge more to cover the increased shipping costs. Prices are available on the subscription page.

I saw your magazine today - well the february issue - in a stationer store in Malta. The cover price I felt was too excessive for a magazine, 16 euros.

after doing the math 16 euros is equal to 21 dollars and change that would be aggressive indeed thats about three issues...
